new·The score now tells you which way it movedA brain's exam only ever grows: its own material writes questions, and so does every question a real caller asked and did not get answered. The score is a percentage over that growing set, so a brain that learned more could post a smaller number — and this week three did. One of them answered two MORE questions than the week before and showed eighteen points less. Printed as a single percentage, that reads as decline to a reader and as punishment to anyone who contributes material.all news →

Quality parameter controls model tier and cost

The --quality parameter (when --model is set to auto, the default) selects the model tier. Quality 'low' uses z-image-turbo (cheapest, for bulk/low-priority symbols). Quality 'medium' (default) uses Nano banana 2 / gemini-3.1-flash-image-preview (~$0.03 per image at 1K resolution, suitable for most symbols and scenes). Quality 'high' uses Nano banana Pro / gemini-3-pro-image-preview (most expensive, for hero assets like logos, mascots, and splash screens).

Keep resolution at 1K for cost control

Resolution is a primary cost lever in apimart billing. The default resolution of 1K should be kept for all but the most demanding splash screens. Nano banana 2 also supports 0.5K (even cheaper). Use 2K or 4K resolutions only when an asset genuinely requires higher fidelity.

Gen_clean generates with medium quality and 1K by default

When calling gen_clean without specifying quality or resolution, it defaults to medium quality tier (Nano banana 2) and 1K resolution. This combination provides a balanced cost-to-quality ratio suitable for most game assets.

Maya Rush production HUD settings and costs

Maya Rush HUD pipeline production settings: chroma CHROMA_MAGENTA from imagegen.chroma; tight tolerance tol=30 (default cyan was 60, too loose); despill range spill_tol=70 (catches 1-2px anti-alias fringe without bleeding); alpha boost True (snaps 80-200 alpha to 255 for crisp silhouette); generation cost ~26 bananas/asset at aspect=1:1 res=1k; retry logic 3 attempts with backoff [3, 6, 9]s (502 Bad Gateway happens ~5% of calls). Full example: 16 symbols + 7 backgrounds + 10 UI panels + logo in one batch cost $4.50 total.
