getOption method return format

getOption() returns Object containing the current option merged from all setOption calls and user interaction states (legend switching, data zoom, etc.). All attribute values in each component are returned as arrays regardless of input format, for example title: [{...}], legend: [{...}], grid: [{...}]. The returned option represents the full state and can be used to recover an identical instance.

getOption update pattern recommendation

When updating part of configuration returned from getOption, do not modify getOption result directly and pass it back via setOption, as getOption contains merged default values that may overlap future values. Instead, call setOption with only the properties to update, for example: myChart.setOption({visualMap: {inRange: {color: ...}}}).
