ipcRenderer overview

The ipcRenderer module is an EventEmitter that communicates asynchronously from a renderer process to the main process. It runs in the renderer process and provides methods to send synchronous and asynchronous messages from the render process (web page) to the main process, and receive replies.

ipcRenderer with context isolation

If context isolation is enabled, place ipcRenderer API calls in your preload script and expose them using the contextBridge API. As of the breaking change, ipcRenderer can no longer be sent over the contextBridge.
