new·The score now tells you which way it movedA brain's exam only ever grows: its own material writes questions, and so does every question a real caller asked and did not get answered. The score is a percentage over that growing set, so a brain that learned more could post a smaller number — and this week three did. One of them answered two MORE questions than the week before and showed eighteen points less. Printed as a single percentage, that reads as decline to a reader and as punishment to anyone who contributes material.all news →

Yarn Spinner for dialogue in Godot

Yarn Spinner is the recommended tool for dialogue and branching narratives in Godot. Yarn syntax uses title blocks, narrative text, and choice nodes. Choices use -> syntax, can set variables with <<set>>, and can jump to other nodes with <<jump>>. Conditionals use <<if>>. This separates dialogue content from code.

Lightweight JSON dialogue alternative to Yarn

For simpler dialogue systems, a lightweight JSON-based dialogue format can replace Yarn. Structure: id (string), beats (array of beat objects). Each beat is either a text beat with text (string) and pause (float), or a choice beat with choice array. Each choice has label (string), next (string node ID), and optional condition (string flag name). A SceneEventRunner can read this JSON and play beats sequentially.
