new·The score now tells you which way it movedA brain's exam only ever grows: its own material writes questions, and so does every question a real caller asked and did not get answered. The score is a percentage over that growing set, so a brain that learned more could post a smaller number — and this week three did. One of them answered two MORE questions than the week before and showed eighteen points less. Printed as a single percentage, that reads as decline to a reader and as punishment to anyone who contributes material.all news →

Text panel iframe and website embedding requirement

To allow embedding of iframes and other websites in text panels, you need to set `allow_embedding = true` in your Grafana `config.ini` or environment variables, depending on your deployment.

Text panel Code mode display options

When Code mode is selected for a text panel, you can enable 'Show line numbers' to display line numbers in the panel preview, and 'Show mini map' to display a small outline of the embedded text in the panel preview.

Text panel Code mode language options

When Code mode is selected for a text panel, you can choose from these languages for syntax highlighting: JSON, YAML, XML, TypeScript, SQL, Go, Markdown, HTML, or Plain text. The default is Plain text.

Text panel mode options

Text panels support three display modes: Markdown (formats content as markdown), HTML (renders content as sanitized HTML, with optional direct HTML control via disable_sanitize_html flag), and Code (renders content inside a read-only code editor with variables expanded for display). Dashboard variables are interpolated in the content for all modes.

Text panel purpose and use cases

Text visualizations let you include text or HTML in your dashboards. Use a text visualization to add important links or useful annotations, provide instructions or guidance on how to interpret different panels or configure settings, or announce any scheduled maintenance or downtime that might impact your dashboards.
