Why models fail to self-correct with Protocol Errors

When validation errors are returned as Protocol Errors, language models do not receive the error message in their context window. This means models cannot understand why their tool call failed and will blindly retry with the same or similar invalid parameters repeatedly, leading to task failure despite the model being capable of self-correction if given proper feedback.
