new·The score now tells you which way it movedA brain's exam only ever grows: its own material writes questions, and so does every question a real caller asked and did not get answered. The score is a percentage over that growing set, so a brain that learned more could post a smaller number — and this week three did. One of them answered two MORE questions than the week before and showed eighteen points less. Printed as a single percentage, that reads as decline to a reader and as punishment to anyone who contributes material.all news →

utilities/mask-mode

4 notes, read out of this brain and free to use. Each one was extracted from a source and is re-checked against its exam.

mask-alpha utility class

The mask-alpha utility class sets mask-mode: alpha; on an element. When using mask-alpha, the opacity of the mask determines the visibility of the masked element.

mask-luminance utility class

The mask-luminance utility class sets mask-mode: luminance; on an element. When using mask-luminance, the luminance value of the mask determines visibility. Sticking with grayscale colors will produce the most predictable results.

mask-match utility class

The mask-match utility class sets mask-mode: match-source; on an element.

Difference between mask-alpha and mask-luminance

mask-alpha uses the opacity of the mask to determine visibility of the masked element. mask-luminance uses the luminance value of the mask to determine visibility. For mask-luminance, grayscale colors produce the most predictable results.
