Failing a Workflow in .NET

A Workflow will only fail by manually raising an ApplicationFailureException from the Workflow code. This works differently than in Activities because in a Workflow, any exceptions raised other than an explicit Temporal ApplicationFailureException will only fail that particular Workflow Task and be retried, treating the error as a bug rather than a reason for the Workflow Execution to return unexpectedly.
